Workflow as a Service

A recurring task, with a repeatable process.

An early-access service in development for work your team repeats. Define the trigger, connect approved inputs, set review points and agree who maintains the workflow.

Discuss a pilot

Early-access services. Scope, integrations and pricing agreed before work starts.

Best for
A frequent task with clear inputs and a process owner.
You receive
A configured workflow, review steps and an operating guide.
Measure
Turnaround time, exceptions and time spent reviewing each run.

Example workflows

Each example pairs an input with a useful output and a reviewer. The actual trigger, permissions and operating limits are agreed for your pilot.

Request intake

Input
An incoming request and your routing rules
Result
A summary, missing fields and a proposed owner
Review
A process owner approves ambiguous routing

Report preparation

Input
Approved records and a report checklist
Result
A draft report with source references and gaps
Review
The report owner checks it before distribution

Incident preparation

Input
Selected alerts and an approved runbook
Result
An incident brief and proposed next steps
Review
An operator approves any remediation

What the pilot covers

Map one task from trigger to handoff: which inputs are needed, what can run automatically and where a person reviews the result. Test the workflow with representative examples before using it on live work.

Agree the operating owner, monitoring, retry limits and support responsibilities. Changes to source systems, permissions or business rules become explicit maintenance work.

When a step fails

A failed connection, missing field or ambiguous request needs a clear next step. Define what can be retried, when work pauses and who receives the exception.

Track successful runs alongside review effort and failures. Compare the pilot with the current process before adding more tasks or volume.

Practical details and sources

These references inform pilot planning. The delivery tools and responsibilities are agreed for your task.

A failed run needs an owner

n8n can trigger a separate error workflow when an execution fails, including sending an alert. The pilot should specify who receives that alert and what happens next.

Retries need defined limits

AWS Step Functions supports configurable retries and error handlers. Retry limits and a fallback path are delivery decisions to agree for the workflow platform chosen.

Set the boundaries before connecting data.

Each pilot needs a clear agreement on access, data handling, approval and exceptions.

Access
Agree the data sources, permitted operations and person who can revoke access. Begin with retrieval and drafts where suitable.
Data handling
Confirm hosting, model providers, destinations and retention before connecting sensitive information.
Approval
Name the reviewer for messages, record changes and other consequential actions. Check the target and approval before execution.
Exceptions
Test failures and misleading inputs. Agree the activity record, escalation owner and recovery steps for each enabled action.

Common questions

Is this a template I download?

The proposed service includes configuring and operating a workflow for an agreed task. The examples are starting points; access, ownership and checks still need to be defined for your team.

What is included in the price?

The pilot proposal separates setup, ongoing management and usage costs. Volume, support, integration work and change requests are agreed before work starts. Standard prices are not published yet.

Will it make changes without approval?

Only operations allowed by the agreed scope can be enabled. A first pilot can stop at summaries and drafts. Sending messages or changing records needs an explicit access and approval design.

Start with one useful task.

Bring one recurring task, a sanitized sample input and the person who reviews the result. We will assess the access, integration and review requirements before proposing a pilot.
